BRONX, N.Y.—In the Gryphons' 2014 season opener, Sarah Lawrence College men's tennis was swept by Farmingdale State College, 9-0, in a non-conference match at the Stadium Tennis Center at Mills Brook Park on Sunday.

Andrew Thurman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Winchester Thurston School) and junior
Adam Neufeld (Bronx, N.Y./The Calhoun School) won a pair of games in an 8-2 loss at No. 2 doubles, and first-years
Jonah Blake (Newport Beach, Calif./Spanish River (Fla.)) and
Ben Dougherty (Brooklyn, N.Y./The Beacon School) fell in the No. 3 position, 8-1.
In singles, Farmingdale's Tyler Danzy, Kevin Palacios and Brian Heinlein swept the top three positions, clinching the team win for the Rams.
Rookie
Aidan O'Brien (Mansfield, Conn./Edwin O. Smith) lost in the No. 4 match, 10-1, while Blake was bettered in the No. 5 match, 8-2. FSC's Cajetan Ferrao won the final match, 10-0.
Sarah Lawrence travels to play rival Yeshiva University on Wednesday at Binghamton Racquet Club in Edgewater, N.J. The Gryphons open their home slate on Wednesday, April 2, when they host York College (N.Y.).
