MADISON, N.J.—Sarah Lawrence College men's swimming placed fourth after day one of the 2015 Drew University Ranger Inviational at F.M. Kirby Pool on Friday.

INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCES
Rookie
Anthony Lee (Stevensville, Md./Kent Island) was runner-up in the 100 yard butterfly, posting a career-best swim of 56.47 seconds. He also finished fifth in the 50 free, improving his career best to 23.13 seconds.
First year
Jack Langland (Ottumwa, Iowa/Ottumwa) took fourth place in the 200 freestyle with a career-best effort of 2:09.01. He also placed fifth in the 500 free with a personal-record swim of 6:13.24, more than 13 seconds off his prior best. Langland set a personal best of 25.77 in the 50 free.
Rookie
Dawa Lama (New York, N.Y./The Beacon School) earned points for fourth place in the 200 individual medley, posting a mark of 2:23.52.
Junior
Nick Ransom (Bakersfield, Calif./Stockdale) placed sixth in the 100 butterfly, swimming a career-best 1:14.38. He also posted a career-best time of 2:35.92 in a 200 IM exhibition race.
Rookie
Charles Allard (Fall River, Mass./B.M.C. Durfee) began the day with a personal-best swim in the 500 free, touching the wall in 7:45.59, good for seventh place. He broke the 30-second mark in the 50 free, swimming a time of 29.97 seconds.
Sophomore
Derick Edgren (Fort Collins, Colo./Auburn (Ill.)) earned a point with his eighth place swim of 2:18.94 in the 200 freestyle. He took 10 seconds off his persona best in the 200 IM, finishing in 2:32.03 in an exhibition race. Edgren also bettered his personal-best in the 50 free, swimming a time of 26.74 seconds.
Rookie
Shaurya Chawla (New Delhi, India/Pathways World School) had a personal best in the 200 freestyle, stopping the clock at 2:52.80.
GRYPHON RELAYS
In the morning session, the 200 medley relay squad of Lee, Lama, Edgren and Langland placed fourth in 1:58.94. The same quartet placed fourth in the 200 free relay (1:38.12) in the evening session. The day's final event featured the foursome and a third-place time of 4:27.52.
