Meet Results | Day One RecapTHROGGS NECK, N.Y.-Sarah Lawrence College men's swimming earned third place at the 2016 Skyline Women's Swimming Championships, hosted by Maritime College on Friday and Saturday. The team improved its standing after a fourth-place showing in 2015.
MARTINEZ SWEEPS EVENTSSenior
Cameron Martinez (Aledo, Texas/Aledo) rounded out the meet by winning all four of his individual events. In addition to two wins on Friday, Martinez won the 100 yard butterfly (51.68) and 200 yard individual medley (1:59.21) on Saturday. His 200 I.M. mark beat the six-year-old Skyline Championships record by 4.5 seconds. As the top-scoring swimmer at the meet, Martinez was honored as the 2016 Skyline Men's Swimming Most Outstanding Swimmer.
INDIVIDUAL SCORINGIn the first event of the day, rookie
Anthony Lee (Stevensville, Md./Kent Island) was the first Gryphon to score points for the team. He earned fourth place in the 100 yard freestyle, posting a time of 50.80 seconds.
The 200 backstroke saw rookie
Charles Allard (Fall River, Mass./B.M.C. Durfee) make his career debut in the event. Allard swam to 10th place in the event with a time of 3:21.83. First year
Shaurya Chawla (New Delhi, India/Pathways World School) also contributed points, earning 11th place with his swim of 3:24.66.

Dawa Lama (New York, N.Y./The Beacon School) swam a career-best time in the 200 breaststroke, finishing fifth in 2:34.09. Rookie
Derick Edgren (Fort Collins, Colo./Auburn (Ill.)) picked up an eighth-place finish with his effort of 2:41.55. Junior
Nick Ransom (Bakersfield, Calif./Stockdale) swam a career-best 2:49.53 to earn 11th in the event, and junior
Jericho Walker-Roberts (Ashland, Ore./Ashland) became the fourth Gryphon to score in the event with his 12th-place performance (2:53.63).
Rookie
Jack Langland (Ottumwa, Iowa/Ottumwa) was the only Gryphon to enter the 500 freestyle; he picked up a point for 12th place in 6:16.88.
Behind Martinez's win in the 100 butterfly, Lee posted his fourth top-five finish of the meet. His personal-best time of 55.83 earned fifth place.
GRYPHON RELAYIn the final race of the two-day meet, the Green and White 400 yard freestyle relay captured third place. Lee, Martinez, Langland and Lama put together a time of 3:32.01, the team's fastest in the event this season.
CAREER MARKSIn addition, four other career-bests were set on Saturday. Langland swam a mark of 56.19 in the 100 freestyle, while the same event saw Allard post a time of 1:07.97. Ransom improved his 100 butterfly career best to 1:11.78, and Edgren completed the 200 I.M. in 2:31.88.
FULL STANDINGSMaritime College won its ninth-straight title after scoring 646 points. Mount Saint Mary College took runner-up honors with 291 points, while SLC trailed with 199 points. Purchase College (173 points), SUNY College at Old Westbury (51) and College of Mount Saint Vincent (36) rounded out the field.
