Box Score 2 NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.—Sarah Lawrence College softball concluded its spring-break road trip with a 10-3 win over Southern Vermont College at North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex on Wednesday. The Gryphons were also dealt a loss by Albright College earlier in the day.

AGAINST ALBRIGHTAlbright scored early and ran away with the game after a six-run first inning. Sophomore
Riley Vuyovich (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) singled in the fourth inning, and classmate
Kamaron McNair (Lawrenceville, N.J./The Hun School) also recorded a hit in the frame. Albright's Riley Gerenda earned the win with seven strikeouts and two hits. SLC's
Mikayla Cunningham (Mayville, Mich./Millington) tossed her fourth complete game in as many days.
GRYPHONS PILE UP RUNSAgainst Southern Vermont, the Gryphon bats got hot early and kept up the pressure. Vuyovich singled in the first inning, while McNair and rookie
Olivia Henry (Pittsburgh, Pa./Sewickley Academy) each blasted an RBI-double, scoring a pair of runs. Henry also came to the plate after an SVC fielding error, and SLC ended the inning with a 3-0 advantage.

TWO MORE FOR THE GRYPHONSAfter SLC dismissed the Mountaineers in order in the top of the fourth, Lead-off rookie
Taryn Penna (Sparta, N.J./Sparta) made it to first base on balls to start the home side. Penna stole second base and advanced to third on an SVC miscue; she came home on a subsequent error. McNair and Henry again combined for back-to-back hits, and Petit brought McNair home on an RBI double up the middle.
CUNNINGHAM SAVES THE DAYAfter a successful day in the circle, McNair pitched into trouble in the top of the fifth. McNair left the game with a 6-2 lead and exchanged places with third-baseman Cunningham. The rookie retired SVC with only one run allowed. Cunningham went on to finish the game to pick up the SLC program's first-ever save.
GRYPHONS CLOSE OUT THE VICTORYSarah Lawrence added a pair of runs in each of the Gryphons' last two innings. Shapiro singled to lead off the fifth and came home on a triple by Penna. Vuyovich singled home a second run to make it an 8-2 game.
Henry walked to start the sixth, and Cunningham singled. Junior
Erin Chafatelli (Nashville, Tenn./McGavock) hit an RBI-single to left field in the inning, and Penna also had an RBI-hit to close out the scoring.
MCNAIR GETS SECOND WINMcNair earned her second win of the week with two strikeouts over four innings. She possesses an SLC record eight career wins. Cunningham entered the record book with SLC's first-ever save; the first year tossed three innings and struck out four batters, allowing just one hit.
UP NEXTSarah Lawrence returns home to Bronxville to host Skyline opponent The Sage Colleges on Saturday. SLC hosts Yeshiva University on Sunday. Both doubleheaders begin at noon.
