Mikayla Cunningham (Mayville, Mich./Millington) cleared the fence in deep right center for a two-run homer, the first of her career. When the dust settled, SLC added four runs in the inning for a 5-0 advantage.

THE WALK-OFFPetit walked to start the home side of the fifth inning. Cunningham followed with a single to center field. John Jay looked to get out of the inning with putouts on the next two batters, and with a full count, senior
Sam Amberchan (Alameda, Calif./Menlo-Atherton) drew a walk in the nine-spot, loading the bases. Penna drove a hard-hit ball into the outfield, and with her two-run double, the Gryphons secured the necessary eight-run advantage to clinch victory.
IN THE CIRCLEMcNair won her second straight game, allowing one hit in her last 11 innings. After a six-inning no-hitter in her last appearance, the sophomore Gryphon carried a no-hitter into the fifth inning of Thursday's contest. John Jay smacked a double with one out to break up the no-no, but McNair struck out three Bulldogs in the fifth to close out her second shutout of the season. She finished with five K's against two walks, and at the plate, she helped herself with a 1 for 2 day plus a sacrifice fly.
ON THE DAYPetit went 2 for 2 with a walk, run and RBI. Penna finished 3 for 4 after two doubles and her home run. Cunningham batted 2 for three, scoring twice, and Vuyovich extended her hitting streak on a 1 for 2 day. Sophomore

FOR JOHN JAYLisbet Lorenzo had the Bulldogs' only hit with a double in the fifth inning. Jennifer Pace and Alinda Nicaj drew walks to get on base. Lisa Pellegrino was handed the loss despite two strikeouts.
