NEW YORK—Sarah Lawrence College student-athlete Matias Sanchez (Córdoba, Argentina/Academia Arguello) has been named Skyline Men's Tennis Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league on Tuesday.

Matias Sanchez (Córdoba, Argentina/Academia Arguello)
Sanchez won both of his matches to lead the Gryphons to their first-ever Skyline victory, a 5-4 win over St. Joseph's College Long Island on Sunday. In the No. 1 singles match, he picked up a 6-3, 6-2 straight-sets triumph. In the No. 1 doubles match, he teamed with Ian Gonzalez (Framingham, Mass./Framingham) to win, 8-3. Over the weekend, Sanchez also added a 6-2, 6-2 singles victory at Lehman College.
