Match Results
TROY, N.Y.—Sarah Lawrence College men's tennis swept The Sage Colleges, 9-0, in a Skyline match at Prospect Park on Sunday. The win improves the Gryphons' league record to 2-3, and SLC has now won three of its last four matches.

DOUBLES
The Gryphons flew out to an early lead by winning all three of the doubles pairings. At No. 1 doubles, rookies
Matias Sanchez (Córdoba, Argentina/Academia Arguello) and
Ian Gonzalez (Framingham, Mass./Framingham) earned their second conference victory by doubling their opponents, 8-4.
In the No. 2 match, sophomore
Andre Garibaldi (New Hope, Pa./New Hope-Solebury) and rookie
Garrett Hsuan (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bard H.S. Early College) improved to 2-0 as a partnership by cruising to an 8-1 victory over their Gator foes. The No. 3 match featured an 8-4 win by rookie
Alex Wah (New York, N.Y./Riverdale Country / Bay Sch. of S.F.) and junior
Ben Dougherty (Brooklyn, N.Y./The Beacon School) who notched their first victory as a pair.
SINGLES
SLC's No. 1 player, Sanchez picked up his team-high third win of the season after giving up three games in his 6-1, 6-2 victory. Gonzalez followed with his first Skyline victory, 6-2, 6-1 in the No. 2 singles match.
At No. 3 singles, Garibaldi failed to accrue a large winning margin but put away his opponent in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, matching Sanchez with three wins for the year.
In the No. 4 match, Wah tied the opening set 6-6 before slipping in the tiebreaker, 7-4. He recovered to win the second set, 6-4, and in the super-tiebreaker, he came away with a 10-6 margin for a 6-7 (4-6), 6-4, (10-6) winning score. Wah has won back-to-back singles matches following a win over Lehman on April 9, also in tiebreaker fashion.
SLC's
Arnie Welles (Greenwich, Conn./Brunswick School) stepped up to make his debut in the No. 5 singles slot. He lost the first set before rebounding in the second set. In the tiebreaker, he opened up an early lead and held the momentum, putting away a 4-6, 6-4, (10-4) victory. Welles also improves his singles win streak to two matches, following a tiebreaker win over Staten Island on Wednesday.
In the final match, Dougherty made his 2016 singles debut in the No. 6 position. He had no trouble coming away with the win, taking his match, 6-1, 6-1.

Sarah Lawrence hosts York College (N.Y.) in a non-conference match on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. The Gryphons travel to St. Joseph's College Brooklyn on Saturday before returning home to host Bard College on Sunday, April 24.
