FARMINGDALE, N.Y.—After having been shut out by the Rams in the teams' three previous meetings, Sarah Lawrence College men's tennis stole two points from Farmingdale State College in a Skyline match at FSC Tennis Courts on Tuesday.
IN SHORT
Farmingdale State (6-6, 2-2 Skyline) def. Sarah Lawrence (4-3, 2-3 Skyline), 7-2.
DOUBLES
In doubles action, sophomore
Garrett Hsuan (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bard H.S. Early College) and junior
Andre Garibaldi (New Hope, Pa./New Hope-Solebury) teamed up to clinch a victory in the No. 2 match. The duo cruised to an 8-3 triumph and improved to 2-0 as a partnership after knocking off their second league opponent.
The No. 3 doubles match saw rookie
Aidan Reckziegel (Montreal, Canada/Idyllwild Arts Acad. (Calif.)) and sophomore
Alex Wah (New York, N.Y./Riverdale Country / Bay Sch. of S.F.) win six games in their 8-6 loss.
SINGLES
Hsuan showed strength in the No. 2 singles match after winning back-to-back games to win his opening set, 7-5. He was unable to hold on to momentum as his Farmingdale opponent took the match, 5-7, 6-4, 6-0.
Sophomore
Ian Gonzalez (Framingham, Mass./Framingham) picked up the Gryphons' first-ever individual win over Farmingdale State with his win in the No. 3 match. Gonzalez blanked his opponent 6-0 in the first set and seemed destined for victory. After dropping the second set, 7-5, he showed his resilience by rebounding to win the third frame and secure his second-straight singles win, 6-0, 5-7, 6-4.
Individually, Reckziegel put up a fight in the No. 4 singles match, winning nine games in his 6-4, 7-5, defeat; the match was his first loss to a league opponent this season.
Senior
Jasper Soloff (New York, N.Y./Trevor Day School) tied his first set, 5-5, but eventually succumbed, 7-5, 6-3.

Sarah Lawrence is slated to travel to U.S. Merchant Marine Academy on Friday before returning home to host Purchas College on Saturday at noon.
