BRONXVILLE, N.Y.—In the conclusion of a match that began on a wet Saturday morning, Sarah Lawrence College men's tennis was defeated by Purchase College, 9-0, in a Skyline match at SLC Tennis Courts on Monday.

DOUBLES
The Gryphons top two pairs were defeated before play was suspended due to rain on Saturday. In the No. 2 position, junior
Andre Garibaldi (New Hope, Pa./New Hope-Solebury) and sophomore
Alex Wah (New York, N.Y./Riverdale Country / Bay Sch. of S.F.) won a game in their 8-1 loss.
Senior
Arnie Welles (Greenwich, Conn./Brunswick School) and rookie
Dillon Collins (Southbury, Conn./Holy Cross) had two days to think about their match after it was suspended with the Panthers in possession of a 5-1 lead. Play resumed on Monday, and Purchase won three straight games to close out the No. 3 match, 8-1.
SINGLES
Purchase clinched team victory after winning the No. 5 and No. 1 singles matches. Sophomore
Ian Gonzalez (Framingham, Mass./Framingham) won two games in his match at No. 3 singles, and Welles won two games in his first match playing at No. 4.
UP NEXT
Sarah Lawrence is scheduled to conclude the regular season at home on Wednesday when the Gryphons host St. Joseph's College Brooklyn. SLC is seeking its first-ever Skyline tournament berth and will clinch a spot in the postseason with a win over the Bears.
