NEWBURGH, N.Y.—Sarah Lawrence College men's tennis achieved its best result against Mount Saint Mary College in over a decade, as the Gryphons fell to the Knights, 6-3, in a Skyline match at MSMC Tennis Courts on Sunday.
IN SHORT

DOUBLES
The Gryphons stole one point from the Knights with a victory at No. 3 doubles. Junior
Andre Garibaldi (New Hope, Pa./New Hope-Solebury) teamed with sophomore
Alex Wah (New York, N.Y./Riverdale Country / Bay Sch. of S.F.) and fought to an 8-8 deadlock with the Knights. In the tiebreaker, the SLC duo took full control and won their match, 9-8 (7-2). MSMC won the No. 1 and No. 2 matches to take a 2-1 edge in the team scoring.
SINGLES
Mount Saint Mary clinched victory by winning matches at No. 1 singles, No. 2 singles and No. 4 singles, earning a 5-1 advantage overall. The Knights added a win in the No. 3 spot for a 6-1 lead.
The Gryphons turned the tide in the final two matches on the courts. In the No. 6 position, Wah cruised to a 6-2 victory in his first set before keeping momentum in a 6-3 win in the second. His victory lifted the sophomore to 2-0 in singles action this season and 6-1 overall.
In the final match on the courts, senior
Jasper Soloff (New York, N.Y./Trevor Day School) knotted his first set at 6-6 before dominating the tiebreaker for a 7-6(7-1) win. He doubled up his MSMC foe in the second set, 6-3, and improved to 4-1 in singles this season.
IN THE RECORD BOOK
Sarah Lawrence's three points against Mount Saint Mary are part of the Gryphons' best result the Knights since an 8-1 victory in 2004. In the teams' seven meetings between 2005 and '16, SLC won a combined three matches against MSMC.
