Akash Radia was a key part of establishing the groundwork for the Sarah Lawrence College men's soccer program throughout his time as a Gryphon. Upon his arrival he took initiative to organize and establish what we now know as the Sarah Lawrence College men's varsity soccer team. Radia worked with sports center director Mary LeVine to create a semester of intramural play before trialing a club team the following semester and finally forming a team to compete in the Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference one semester later.

Radia became the first SLC men's soccer player to receive HVMAC All-Conference recognition in 2009, leading the way for teammates in years to come. The accolade was well deserved as Radia tallied goals in nearly all games played, leading the offensive attack for the Gryphons. Throughout his time as a Gryphon, Radia found the back of the net 11 times in just 14 games, becoming a prolific scorer in the program's newfound history.

Following his time as a student-athlete at Sarah Lawrence, Radia returned to the school as an assistant coach in 2015 to help prepare for the program's first NCAA season. He was also an advisor to the Urban Soccer Initiative from 2014-2015 and love.fútbol from 2018-2019, supervising initiatives for soccer field rehabilitation projects across the country. His academic career did not end at Sarah Lawrence either, as he earned a Master of Science degree in Behavioral and Social Health Sciences from Brown University before earning a Master of Arts in Applied Psychology from the Teachers College at Columbia University.

Akash Radia now works as a lead UX researcher for Macadamian, a company in the digital health and wellness industry.
