Sarah Lawrence Athletics Hall of Fame
Sophia Spralja ’19 left an enduring mark on Sarah Lawrence women’s soccer as one of the program’s trailblazers. The first-ever recruit in team history, Spralja set the standard for excellence and leadership as a three-time team MVP, 2019 SLC Female Athlete of the Year, and Skyline Conference First Team selection. Serving as a captain and central midfielder, she helped shape the foundation of a growing program, undoubtedly playing a role in the team’s later successes, including a Skyline Conference Championship in 2022. After graduation, Spralja continued to exemplify the values of a Gryphon, currently earning a master’s degree at Yale University while previously representing the Vatican City State’s women’s soccer team and working for the Patrons of the Arts in the Vatican Museums. Her journey, from helping pioneer a young SLC program to competing internationally, reflects the resilience and passion that define Sarah Lawrence Athletics.
