WEBSTER, N.Y.-The Sarah Lawrence College women's swimming team set three team records during day two of the 2015 Upper New York State Collegiate Swimming Association Championships, hosted by Nazareth College at Webster Aquatic Center on Thursday. Action continues through Saturday, Feb. 21.
The SLC relays had a perfect day, as both squads broke team records in Thursday's evening session. The finals began with championship heats of the 200 yard freestyle relay. Rookie
Hannah Lawson (Portland, Ore./Pacific Crest Community School) led off for the Green and White, swimming the team's fastest lap of the season in 26.26 seconds. Following Lawson, first year

Jacqueline Quirk (Millburn, N.J./Millburn) and sophomore
Gabby Risica (Narragansett, R.I./Narragansett) rounded out a swim of 1:46.79. The effort was a full second faster than the team's previous record in the event and earned the squad 14th place overall.

Colette Harley (Shelton, Conn./Shelton) and Quirk represented the Gryphons in the 400 medley relay. The foursome set a new SLC best of 4:22.36 in the qualifying preliminary. The quartet then returned Thursday evening and improved their time by more than four seconds, finishing in 4:18.31 for a new record and 13th place in the event.
The morning's preliminary session saw Harley collect the team's first individual record of the meet. Breaking her own 100 yard butterfly record by 0.12 seconds, she touched the wall in 1:02.94, good for 29th place overall.
Four other Gryphons swam career bests in Thursday's preliminary session. In the 100 butterfly, rookie
Sarah Schnapp (Taiwan/Tzu Chi) swam a best of 1:17.50, while sophomore
Lydia Mullan (Winchester, Mass./Winchester) was just behind in 1:17.97. Senior
Alexis Bates (Morristown, N.J./Morristown) swam a career best in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:09.96, and rookie
Elizabeth Kroll (Sacramento, Calif./The Met Sacramento) improved upon her previous best in the event with a swim of 2:23.05.
Quirk also raced in the 200 freestyle, stopping the clock in 2:16.01. Rounding out the day two action, junior
Sam Amberchan (Alameda, Calif./Menlo-Atherton) posted a swim of 5:43.04 in the 400 yard individual medley.
Through the second day of competition, the Gryphons improved to 14th place overall.
